The Internet was conceptualized and how it reached its present form is a very natural question that arises in the mind of every Internet user. The Internet is basically the result of military activities. It is about the time when the Cold War was going on between Russia and America. Both countries had developed many nuclear weapons. 

At that time, the US RAND Corporation, which was the main advisory organization of the US military, envisaged a computer communication network that could function even after a nuclear attack, and the communication system would be automated using a computer communication route. Could only continue. Earlier, computers were connected in the series line itself, that is, if one computer failed, then further communication would be disrupted. This was called a point to point type of network.

The development journey of the Internet has been almost 30 years. Professor Leonard Kleinrock of the University of California is called the father of the Internet. On September 2, 1969, Dr. Kleinrock and his colleagues succeeded in establishing communication between two computers. This communication was made through a refrigerator-shaped router called the Interface Message Processor. In fact the two computers spoke to each other on October 20, 1969. 

ARPA, the US government's Advanced Research Projects Agency, was funding the creation of a network that would allow researchers at selected centers to use each other's computers. The network that was formed in the beginning was called Arpanet.

Dr. Kleinrock and his colleagues did not know that in the future there would be so many possibilities from the Internet. The project that started with the security needs of America during the Cold War era will now grow into a medium of information, entertainment, knowledge-science, transportation and above all, trade. 

This journey of the Internet taking the form of the World Wide Web took place in the 1980s. When Dr. Tim Berners Lee wrote a small computer program for his personal use. This program provided the facility to interconnect letters written within their computer. Soon the Internet made it possible to link documents between different computers. The format used to link these documents was called HTML.
