1.  Local Area Network

Wireless LAN is quite common today. The technology on which it is based is known as Wi-Fi. Its full form is Wireless Fidelity. The wireless distance traveled over a local area network is measured in feet or meters instead of in miles. 


Therefore, this technology does not directly connect to the ISP as in a wireless WAN (WWAN) or satellite connection. Rather it is used to connect to any other LAN or device through which one can access the Internet. In a cordless WAN, a wireless access point acts as a port less hub or switch. 


Wireless LANs mainly use a wireless access point that connects wireless computers to a wired LAN and thus can access the LAN's resources as well as access the Internet via a router. Can connect with.


To connect to the Internet, a wireless access point connects to a wired LAN like any other device, and then computers with cordless NICs are able to access the LAN. 3. Metropolitan Area Network 


A metropolitan area network is a high-speed network that can carry voice, data and image ages over a distance of 75 km at a speed of 200 megabits per second or more. Depending on the network structure, the transmission speed can be even higher for short distances. A MAN, which may include one or more LANs, as well as other telecommunications equipment such as microwave and satellite relay stations, is smaller than a WAN, But it works at high speed.

4. Wide Area Network 


A wide area network provides data, e-mail, audio and video information to be transmitted over a large geographical area, such as the whole country, the continent, all over the world. Switched WAN connects end (COD) systems which usually have an internet working connection device (router) that connects to other lanes or WANs. 


A point-to-point WAN is usually a line from a telephone or cable TV provider that connects a home computer or a small LAN to an Internet service provider. The user of this type of WAN is used to provide internet access.

5. Wireless Wide Area Network

6. Virtual Private Network

Virtual private network is also called VPN for short. VPNs have attracted the attention of many organizations looking to increase their networking capabilities and reduce their costs. VPNs can be found in offices and homes where they allow employees to securely log into their company networks . People who travel frequently consider it to be a convenient means of connecting to the Internet. VPNVPN operates private data communication using telecommunications networks. 


Most VPN installations use the Internet as the public infrastructure and use a variety of specialist protocols to support private communication via the Internet. VPN is also based on the client server architecture like the Internet.
